2012 School Tour Question Forms coming soon!
This year’s Harvest of Knowledge is perfect for school children learning about the roots and impact that agriculture has had on Oregon. There will be many opportunities for fun and learning.
As you journey through the Agriculture Facts Pumpkin-Wagon Corn Maze (a large pumpkin-filled wagon) you will encounter many fun and interesting facts about farming, food items, and Oregon. Accompany these facts with a question sheet for your children to fill out and the kids will be learning in no time, and having fun while doing it
Children of all ages will enjoy this fun-filled experience. This is an exceptional social studies opportunity for elementary students.
Pumpkin Patch: Each student will pick out a pumpkin and one pumpkin will be given to each class.
Petting Zoo: See a variety of farm animals such as a calf, goats, chickens, pigs, and sheep. There will be feed available in quarter-operated machines. And of course there will be hand washing facilities available.
Orchard Tour: The students will participate in a tour of the orchard where the growing process is explained to the children, season by season in a way suitable to their grade level. They will be able to pick out an apple to eat or take home.
Corn Maze : Your class will travel through our maze which is in the shape of a large pumpkin-filled wagon. They will see a Native American tipi, a large slide, climb over a huge straw mountain, and see many signs filled with fun facts and information. Please click here to see grade appropriate worksheets that you can pre-print and use on your field trip or in class prior to or after your visit to the Corn Oregon Maze.
And Much More: In addition to the pumpkin and apple, each child will receive an apple cider donut, apple cider and an E.Z. Orchards HarvestFest sticker.
